The Rapture - How deep is your love (Populette Remix) (2011)

To end up the year 2011 as good as possible here comes a gorgeous hit remix of the original song. "The Rapture normally is a rock band based in New York City. The band mixes influences from many genres including post-punk, new rave, dance-punk, acid house, disco, electronica and rock and roll." (Discogs)
This remix by Populette is simply a great work in electronic music and makes us dancing into the NEW YEAR 2012.

Visage - Mind of a toy (1981)

This is a jump into the synth-wave-pop corner and I think that this song by Visage is not as common as for example their biggest hit ever "Fade to grey". But I like it though. Sorry for the raw sound quality.

December 29, 2011

Tullio de Piscopo - Stop bajon (1984)

Tullio started releasing music in the mid 70s and this one is supposed to be his most famous piece of music - and it's such a cool Italo electro disco track.

Discodromo - Numero Uno (Prins Thomas Edit) (2011)

Discodromo is a duo of the two Italian guys Giacomo Garavelloni and Giovanni Turco who are living in Berlin/Germany. You can recognize their roots in their music. This remix by Prins Thomas is beautiful, driving and uplifting. Enjoy!

December 27, 2011

Grecos - Living in the sky (1984)

Once again back to all beloved Italo sound. This is an absolutely classic song and you have to spend some bucks more to get a copy.

Sare Havlicek - White russian (Lazy summer) (Max Essa presents Jan Ken Po Remix) (2010)

This is so to say a "guest track" on the EP "Pleasure storm". In this youtube video it's a bit pitched up unfortunately. Normally it's more relaxed.

December 23, 2011

Aeroplane - Save me now (2011)

Aeroplane presents these two compilations and he didn't miss to eternize himself on it. Great stuff as usual.

Poolside - Take me home (2011)

This cosmic and balearic sound also comes from the "In Flight Entertainment".

December 21, 2011

Herr Styler - Zero ghosts out the door (2011)

This is one track from the ace compilation "In Flight Entertainment" which is presented by "Aeroplane". This song sounds a bit like Chinese Folk music. More tracks of this comp to come soon.

Paul Weller - Starlite (Drop Out Orchestra Remix) (2011)

Nice relaxed and funky remix from a Swedish producer.

December 19, 2011

Flight Facilities - Foreign language (Extended Mix) (2011)

... and this is the original version in an extended mix. It's such a great piece of music.

Flight Facilities - Foreign language (Drop Out Orchestra Remix) (2011)

This remix makes really funky shit out of the original with funky guitars, bongos and many more. Simply a great work.

December 14, 2011

Uranium - Carbon 14 (1979)

Related to the last post here comes the B-side of the 12inch "Eleanor rigby". Sounds similar but it's not even worse than this.

Uranium - Eleanor rigby (1979)

Fly through the 70s-Disco-space with this classic tune from France.

December 12, 2011

Theo Vaness - Bad bad boy (1979)

Disco burner from the Dutch singer Hendrikus Theodorus van Es.

In 2009 an instrumental edit came out under the title "Baden Baden" and has been presented by Bottin on a 12inch together with some other strange disco edits. Great stuff.

Rushhour - Cosmico (2011)

This track is featured on the B-side of the 12inch "Moogie". Cool synth-bass and cosmic spacefly mood from Russia.

December 10, 2011

Rushhour - Moogie (Alden Tyrell Remix) (2011)

New spacedisco at its best remixed by all known Martijn Hoogendijk. He's simply genius.

Ayisha - Space men (1978/2011)

Last night I had a dream ... Space men I fly with you, space men I die for you ...
Such a cool and funky disco-tune originally released in 1978 as a 7inch and re-released in 2011 as a 10Inch on coloured vinyl.

December 8, 2011

December 4, 2011

Chic - Good times (1979)

To go on with 70s classic disco tunes here are the "Good times":

Cerrone - Je suis music (1978)

Another classic disco burner - this time even with a French title: "I am music". Fits to all of us 'cause we all are music!!!

December 1, 2011

Cerrone - Freak connection (1983)

Essential work by Frenchman Jean-Marc Cerrone. The 12inch actually is a medley between the songs "Freak connection" and "Standing in the shadows of love".

If you wanna listen to the first only "Freak connection" track you shouldn't miss "The Robot Scientists Freaks in Space Edit" coming here:

Hott City - Feelin' love (1979)

This is the B-side of the 12inch "Ain't love grand" and is such a groovy song that makes you simply feeling good.

November 29, 2011

Chic - I want your love (1978)

Normally I needn't lose any words about this classic tune but there's a new edit by Todd Terje you should check out. Unfortunately it's not on youtube yet so you have to listen to the original song here - but that's quite not a shame I think :-))

I Signori Della Galassia - Iceman (1979)

Totally weird!!! It's the title song of the album with the same name. INSANE!

November 27, 2011

Blush - Lift off (1978)

This track isn't only from the album "Out of this world" but it's indeed out of this world and miles ahead of its time.

Skatebard - Starwatcher II (2010)

Trance-House touched title track from Skatebard's "Starwatcher EP" from which I already introduced the B-side track some time ago.

November 25, 2011

D-Pulse - On a highway to Saturn (2010)

NuDisco from Russia with vocals by Hannah Mancini from Slovenia. Best!!!

Marbeya Sound - Non reciprocal (Original) (2010)

This is the original tracks from the U.S. duo "Marbeya Sound". Very nice slomo cosmic Nudisco sound. The spanish guys from the "Rare Wiri" label run by Rayko released an essential EP with three excellent remixes of this track.

November 23, 2011

Brian Bennett - Chain reaction (1978)

Another gem from Bennett's album in the same manner as "Voyage". Simply great tunes. Kind of "Star Wars" soundtrack.

Brian Bennett - Voyage (1978)

Highly recommended cosmic disco monster from the album "Voyage (A journey into discoid funk)". You can get this now for a fair price as an unofficial repress - but for the original album you have to dig out a bit more money.

November 20, 2011

Roland Sebastian Faber - Morgengrau (2010)

... and this is the second track from this EP. The third one I already posted here some time ago.

Roland Sebastian Faber - Gropiusstadt (2010)

Typical sound of Roland Sebastian Faber under his real name. He has so many aliases that would be too much to mention here. If you wanna learn more about him you can check "Discogs".
This piece is the title track from the "Gropiusstadt EP".

November 19, 2011

Anosphere - Epsilon hunter (2010)

Part four of the synth-loaden album series on Radio Cosmos is called "Synth planet" and contains besides many others this slowmo but pretty hard rocking monster:

Aldo Bergamachine - Baby noise-x-mod (2009)

Another gem from Frederic Bergamaschi who is the founder of the French based "Radio Cosmos" label. Pure electro disco sound full of energy.

November 15, 2011

Kinky Roland - Sahara (2009)

... and this is the next one worth to be listened to:

Keen K & P Muench - Maiden (2009)

To go on with some cosmic synth-pop music I'm gonna introduce a few more tracks from the already mentioned double album "Synthetic Memento".

November 11, 2011

Aldo Bergamachine - Medieval orange (2009)

... and as i'm in this "Synthetic Memento" album at the moment here comes another track from there. Light sounding and easygoing.

S.C.D. - Lovely (2009)

Another dreamy piece of synth-music from the great double album "Synthetic Memento".

November 10, 2011

Panthers - Goblin city (Holy Ghost! Extended Disco Dub) (2008)

Very nice NuDisco production and remix by Holy Ghost! which has been released in Germany on the amazing "Permanent Vacation" label and in the U.S. on absolutely hipster label "DFA".

Relaxing electronic sound released on New York's hip underground label "Italians do it better".

November 3, 2011

GAG - Flyin' bolero (1983)

Very nice Cosmic Italo track although there is not known a lot about the people behind this project.

November 1, 2011

Riz Ortolani - Il corpo di Linda (1978)

You won't believe it but this track is really 33 years old! First release was in 1978 as part of the album "La ragazza dal Pigiama Giallo" and a repress came out on a 12inch in 2008. Driving and uplifting.

The Disco Connection - Rock your baby (1982)

This is a "new" version of George McCrae's super hit "Rock your baby" with a cool vocoder voice and an Italo influence. The German release on ZYX Records is one of the first releases of this essential label which brought Italo to Germany. The 12inch has the release number 5007.

October 26, 2011

La Bionda - Wanna be your lover (1980)

This is a very early Italo production which can't hide it's minimalism. The sound is kind of funny in my opinion but cool though. The 12inch is high recommended and you can get it for more than 55 Euros at discogs.

Romanelli - Chain reaction (1982)

HiNRG cosmic italo synthpop that sounds like a soundtrack.

October 24, 2011

October 21, 2011

Zodiac - Photo finish (1982)

This is more Space Electronic Disco Rock - but also a nice one from the album "Music in the universe".

Slang - Johnny Guitar/Pinch roller (1978)

This gem is so sensationally good. It's a medley with the titles "Johnny Guitar" and "Pinch roller". It's funky, cosmic and sexy. There's an instrumental edit available which is made by Loud-E.

October 17, 2011

Supersonic Lovers - Nero boogie (2008)

The Italian duo brings us this track with a mindblowing synthbass.

I-f - I cut my heart out (2007)

This is a totally obscure track and Italo legend Fred Ventura delivers his voice to this.

October 15, 2011

Legowelt - Conquestadores extraterrestriales (2007)

Totally overseen gem from Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt. It's featured on a 12inch called "We Still Kill The Old Way: The Double Double Cross". :-)))

Asso - Don't stop (1983)

Yeah - 1983!!! Italo disco with a big portion of Funk. That's the stuff!

October 10, 2011

The Silicon Scientist - When the world slows down (2008)

This is also from the "SynthStation" album. Powerful synthwork and light vocals. Nearly a synthpop song.

S.C.D. - The move 1 (2008)

It's taken from the Radio Cosmos release number 2 "SynthStation". Very spacey and "Something Completely Different" --> S.C.D.

October 8, 2011

October 7, 2011

Erik Wikström - Marathon (2008)

Erik comes from Sweden and is also the man behind "Jackpot" that you also can find here in the blog with "Night flight" and "Ragazza".

This track has been released under his real name on the 12inch with the same name.

John Daly - Move (2007)

John is an Irish DJ and producer and the owner of the label "Feel Music".

October 4, 2011

Tantra - The hills of Katmandu / Wishbone (1979)

First release of this Disco burner was as a 12inch which contains one title on the A-side and the other on the B-side. Both came out again one year later on "The double album" - each one in a mystic and superlong version. Here are the long versions:

1. Hills of Katmandu:

2. Wishbone:

October 2, 2011

Mr. Pauli - Eva W. (2008)

Another nice production by Ingmar Pauli from Westcoast Holland. Kind of obscure Cosmic Italo stuff.

Alden Tyrell - Mindless (2006)

This piece is part of the great double album "Times like these (1999 - 2006" on which Martijn Hoogendijk shows us what NuItalo is about. Some other posts of this album you also can find in the blog by searching for "Alden Tyrell".

September 28, 2011

Freak Electrique - P.H.A.S.E.R. (2003)

Epic masterpiece - unbeatable!!!

September 25, 2011

Dee D. Jackson - Meteor man (1978)

Classic electronic disco track.

Flemming Dalum - Magic80 Italo Mixtape (2011)

This is the latest monster mixtape of our good friend Flemming from Denmark including lots of Italo from over 30 years - and as you know our philosophy is: "The future is 30 years old." This mix is so relevant, don't miss it.

BTW: it also contains The Robot Scientists' edit of "ASTRONUT – Astronut Communications". Thanks a lot to Flemming.

FLEMMING DALUM - Magic80 by Flemming Dalum

Get hypnotized while listening to that during your "Psycho session".

September 20, 2011

Composite Profuse - My old red car (2007)

Electro based track with a nice descent vocoder voice from the EP with the same name. More to come in the next days ...

Yellow Magic Orchestra - Technopolis (1979)

Travel back in time again to the end 70s with this upspeeded strange cosmic track from Japan.

September 18, 2011

Roland Sebastian Faber - Hommage I I (2007)

... and where is an Hommage number one there is a number two not too far away - actually on the B-side of the 12inch.

Roland Sebastian Faber - Hommage I (2007)

Great synth pop sound from German Roland Sebastian Faber who also is running numberous other projects.

September 15, 2011

Fotoplastikon - Misja profesora terbovena (2010)

... and to complete the release here comes the third and last track of this one sider - greets again from Bobby "O":

Loyal Plastic Robot - Italian bomber (2010)

This one is the second track of the previous mentioned Polish release.

Interfunk - Get up (2010)

Bobby "O" based dark sounds with some house character. Surprisingly the track is featured on a release from Poland which is limited to 111 copies on shiny yellow wax.

September 13, 2011

Rex The Dog - Italian blonde (2007)

This is the B-side of "Circulate" and comes with some obscure 80s-sounding C64-sounds which sometimes turning into acid. Interesting.

Rex The Dog - Circulate (2007)

Release on Paris located hot Kitsuné Music label. Rocks like there wouldn't be an end. Play it loud.

September 11, 2011

September 9, 2011

Skatebard - Why not? (2010)

Last year our Norwegian friend came out with this driving techno and house track - but it's not only techno and house in my opinion. Therefore I like so much. Put your arms in the air and let's dance.

Space Ranger - Superstring (Rayko Remix) (2010)

Space Ranger is a German based trio and Spain's NuDisco hero Raico Peña made a bomb out of their "Superstring". Don't miss this!!!

September 7, 2011

Toomy Disco - Disco lights (2011)

B2-track of the "Static friction" 12inch. The driving bassline is awesome.

Toomy Disco - Static friction (Mario Basanov Remix) (2011)

Mario Basanov isn't only talented in making his own music - he also is great in making some remixes. As for example this one which is originally from Romanian born Mariano Iliuta who now is living in Argentina.

September 4, 2011

Proper Heat - Gettin' to (2011)

This song is also featured on the 12inch "The move EP". It's a bit more poppy and groovy than "The move" itself. Nice work.

Proper Heat - The move (2011)

These guys are from Lithunia as well - seems that there is a little cluster of good producers at the moment. The 12inch comes on the fantastic "NANG Records" from the UK which obviously is devoted to NuDisco.

September 2, 2011

Mario Basanov - Lonely days (Plate Dub) (2011)

Great and sweet summer sound from Lithunia. The real name of this guy is Marijus Adomaitis.

Sare Havlicek feat. Hannah Mancini - Pleasure storm (2010)

Journey back to the funky and sexy 70s with real strings and nice vocals by Hannah Mancini from Slovenia who also sang "Dreams in light" in cooperation with Sare Havlicek.

The 12inch-release of this song also features some very cool remixes - it's really worth to get it.

August 31, 2011

Alena - Changes (Ron Basejam Remix) (2011)

This is a pretty cool and funky gem which has been released on a split EP called "Futurism".

Aeroplane - My enemy (2011)

And last but not least Aeroplane's latest stroke of genius; first the original version and second - for your absolute dancing pleasure - the "Rex The Dog Remix".

August 29, 2011

August 5, 2011

Aeroplane - Caramellas (2007)

Dear friends, followers and supporters! Mister Italo is going on a holiday until the end of August so this will be probably the last post until then.

It's a little cut from the B-side of "Aeroplane". The original length of the track is longer than the freatured video.

So enjoy and stay ITALO!!!

August 4, 2011

Aeroplane - Aeroplane (2007)

In the beginning Aeroplane was a Belgian project between Stephen Fasano and Vito de Luca. In 2010 Stephen Fasano left it to start with his own alias "The Magican". From that moment only Vito de Luca represents Aeroplane.

"Aeroplane's music can be described as psyché guitars, pop keys, melancholic waves and catchy bass lines meets disco beats." (discogs)

For me it's the absolute hero of NuDisco at the moment. Love it so much.

Giorgio Moroder vs. Martin Brodin - The chase 2011 (2011)

Normally I don't like such new edits of formerly masterpieces - especially such from genius Moroder. But this one is really well done and pretty close to the original - although it's with a bit more bang of course.

August 2, 2011

Jori Hulkkonen - I am dead (Who made Who Remix) (2010)

Ace music from Finland. Jori Hulkkonen is deeply influenced by 80s electronic synth music - and if you listen to this song this is getting more than clear. Great vocals btw by Jerry Valuri.

Den Haan - Release the beast (2009)

This is the first release of this track. Another extended version called "Increase the beast" came out on "De Brandende Haan EP" together with "Afterburner". To me it's a bit too hectic and I would prefer an only instrumental version. But it depends on everybody's taste. So decide yourself if you like it or not.

July 31, 2011

Den Haan - Afterburner (2010)

A reminiscence on Risqué's dub-mix of "Burn it up (Mr. DJ)". Very powerful and uplifting.

The Glue - A broken heart (2011)

This is the B-side of the split EP with Rayko's "Die for you". Slowmo disco with lots of emotion.

July 27, 2011

Rayko - Die for you (2011)

Put your arms in the air and fly. Rayko's version of the Prince classic "I would die for you" drives like nuts.

Alba - Philomena (Part I) (2010)

Discogs says: Alba is a "project devoted to Electro Disco". The guys behind this project are well known to the scene: Keen K, Michael Künzer and Roland Faber. And discogs is right: Philomena is Electro Disco at its best - massive synth-work and a catchy melody-line. I like this piece of music.

July 25, 2011

DMX Krew - The game (2011)

Besides "Come to me" another hit from UK producer Edward Upton. On the 12inch you also can find an extended dance mix which varies a bit from this original version.

Zenobia - In the night (Dub version) (1985)

Typical upspeed electronic disco track from the mid-eighties in the better dub-version.

July 23, 2011

Miss Cheesecake aka Luke Howard - Get off the floor (2011)

Take a massive drumbass and synthline - btw: that remembers me on "M & G - When I let you down" - and then you really should get off the floor if you ain't dancing.

Brassica - Lydden circuit (2011)

Next one from the Cyber Dance double album. A bit dark, a bit sad, a bit of Italo, a bit of Electro. Nice gem. Enjoy!

July 20, 2011

Martin Aston - Mamasita (2011)

Martin Aston aka Casionova aka James Penrose brings us this wonderful slow track on the double 12inch from Cyber Dance Records.

Mark Du Mosch - Pacifix (2011)

As promised here comes the next track from the exciting "Messages from the Void Vol. 2" double album. Typical sound from Rotterdam's Mark du Mosch.

July 18, 2011

Night System - Flight to Zanzibar (Flemming Dalum Remix) (2011)

Back to Italo again: it's featured on one of the best recent releases I know: "Messages from the void Vol. 2" on Cyber Dance Records. This double album unites some of the best Electro Disco tracks of the last years. Later I'll introduce some more tracks of this release. It's really worth!!!

"Flight to Zanzibar" was originally from 2010. The man behind "Night System" is our good friend from London: James Penrose. Italo legend Flemming Dalum remixed this gem for the double album. It's formidable.

Haules Baules - Buch (2011)

A release from March 2011. The style can definitely be called House. I like it though because of the driving character of the synths starting at about 2:23 and again after the exciting break at 5:40.

July 16, 2011

Alexander Robotnick & Ludus Pinsky - The analog session (N5 from outer space) (2010)

The track is pretty housy - but nevertheless pretty good as well. And the video is the coolest video I ever saw: Two "old" men in the cellar having fun with their analog equipment.

Luke Million - Italo journey (Part 1 & 2) (2010)

A modern tribute to Italo synth sound - pretty cool.

Part 1:

Part 2:

July 14, 2011

Tyson - Die on the dancefloor (2010)

If you like Patrick Cowley and Sylvester you also will love this piece of Italo and Disco music. Think it's a very nice tribute to the old times.

Fred Ventura - Open your eyes (2008)

Now you have to fasten your seatbelt if you don't want to be blown away. "Open your eyes" is the second track on the EP I mentioned in the last post down below. Fred Ventura is simply a living Italo-legend.

This one is the Vulcan Mix (it's a pity I couldn't find the Hypnoosi Mix of that because it's an absolutely energetic tune full of power):

Andy Romano - Robot matador (2008)

This is one masterpiece from a split EP by Andy Romano and Fred Ventura. NuItalo at its best. Mind-expanding and hypnotical synths with a wonderful vocoder.

July 11, 2011

Acos Coolkas - Free flight (2009)

From the track "Free flight" which is mentioned first one post before there exist also some remixes you can find on the 12inch. They are so good so it's pretty difficult to decide between them.

First example is the space-touched remix by Ichisan from Slovenia:

Second example is the "funky-shit" remix by Sare Havlicek - also from Slovenia:

Acos Coolkas - Free flight (The Acos Coolkas Synth Touch Mix) (2009)

Acos Coolkas are the two guys Konstantin Atomas and Vasiliy Basalaev and they bring us a very lovely tune with their "Free flight". Also very relaxed and pretty good for hot summer days and nights.

Diskjokke - Flott flyt (2008)

This comes from Norway and has been produced by Joachim Dyrdahl. It's featured in the latest Cosmic Beach Club Mix from The Robot Scientists. Relaxed mood and psychodelic vibe to listen to on a white-sanded beach with a cocktail in your hand.

July 9, 2011

Tensnake - Need your lovin' (Dub Mix) (2010)

This nice gem you can find on the B-side of the "Coma cat" release. So you see it's absolutely worth to get the vinyl.

Tensnake - Coma cat (2010)

Tensnake is a German guy with the real name Marco Niemerski. His "Coma cat" is a dancefloor orientated disco house track that will rock you for sure.

Gui Boratto - I feel love (2009)

Guilherme Boratto comes from Brazil and there he is a magnificent producer for several record companies such as EMI or BMG.

July 7, 2011

Electrosexual & Mz Sunday Luv – I feel love (2010)

An absolutely powerful mixture between Techno, Electro and Disco with sexy vocals that will push you over the floor like hell.

Sequal - I'm over you (1988)

Freestyle normally is kind of childish to me, but this song has such a powerful drive so you can't help to move to it. BTW: the girls are also worth to look at ;-)

Mark Imperial - J'adore danser (1985)

I would say that this is one of the earliest house-called tracks before the big house-business started up. I like this one because it has some nice melody-synth-elements besides the typical house feeling.

July 5, 2011

Todd Terje - Eurodans/Italian stallion (2005)

This 12inch is actually a double A-side in my opinion. The first track "Eurodans" sounds like a space journey on the beach and the second track "Italian stallion" hits the floor like hell. A pity I only found "Eurodans" on youtube.

Hipnosis - Droid (1987)

Classic tune!!!

Skatebard - Way out (H.R. Genova R.M.X.) (2010)

This is an absolutely floor burner from our Norwegian friend - here in a remix version which has been released on "The Starwatcher EP".

July 1, 2011

Memory Control One (MC1) - Counter (Beppe Loda Electro Monster Mix) (2008)

This monster is originally from 2008 and has been represented by Beppe Loda in 2010 again - on the amazing "NANG Records" label.

Sare Havlicek - Dreams in light (2010)

Jure Havliček is the real name of this DJ and producer from Slovenia. He creates great tunes with summer lightness and a cool funky touch.

Blackbelt Anderson - Tyrkisk pepper (2010)

Ready for a space flight? So come aboard and drift.

June 29, 2011

Apiento & Co - She walks (Pete Herbert Remix)

Let the summer come in with some Cosmic and Space Beachclub feeling. I love the piano parts in this track. It's amazing.

Depeche Mode - Further excerpts from: my secret garden (1982)

Everybody knows the great tunes from Depeche Mode. But this treasure in electronic synth-pop is hidden on the B-side of the 12inch "Leave in silence". Think this is also kind of great.

Man Parrish - Heatstroke (1982)

Electro Hiphop with cool vocoder - absolutely classic tune.

June 27, 2011

Patrick Cowley - Mind warp (The album) (1982)

Today I wanna make a tribute to one of the greatest pioneers of Hi-NRG and electronic dance music. Patrick Cowley was born in Buffalo, New York in 1950 and died too early in 1982.

Here are my favourite tracks from his last - and in my opinion his best - album which shows his genius:

June 23, 2011

Mr. Pauli and David Vunk - Zanzibar express (2010)

... and to make the EP complete here's the third featured track. Sorry for the raw sound qualitiy.

Mr. Pauli and David Vunk - Italian dreams (instr.) (2010)

Also from the "Laserlords"-EP.

Mr. Pauli and David Vunk - Robo dance (2010)

These "crazy" Dutchmen :-)
Last year they came out with the EP "We are the laserlords" on David Vunk's "Moustache Records" - and it sounds in fact like a mixture between Miami Vice soundtrack and a laser battle in outer space.

Gino Felino - Thank you for this world (2010)

This is the second side of the EP which also features "Spend the night" I've already posted. It starts up with a warped sample of Miko Mission's "How old are you". Very nicely done.

June 21, 2011

Electrick Dragon - 3rd plan (2010)

This is the second track from the "Electrick Dragon EP" from which is also "Italian inspiration" (that was the last post).

Electrick Dragon - Italian inspiration (2010)

This is another massive NuItalo track from our Dutch friends. The artist's real name is Rick van Breugel and he is a good friend from the "Moustache Records" owner David Vunk.

Roland Sebastian Faber - Löffelkinder (2010)

A very impressive track from the "Gropiusstadt EP". The sound has been created in Germany and came out on the wonderful "AUBE"-label from Düsseldorf/Germany which is run by Michael Künzer.

June 19, 2011

Putsch '79 - Samasaval (2010)

NuDisco from the Netherlands with a cosmic touch. Compare the two versions and decide which one you like more:

Original Mix:

Alden Tyrell Mix:

Legowelt - The Hagues disco elite (2000)

Another bomb from the EP "Wirtschaftswunder".

June 11, 2011

Giorgio Moroder - Utopia (1977)

This track is also a masterpiece and featured on the same album as "From here to eternity".

Giorgio Moroder - From here to eternity (1977)

Many posts before I showed you a cover version of this essential gem from our godfather of eletronic synthesizer sound. But now it's time for the original!

Mirage - Mirage in the space (1983)

The year of the release is supposed to be 1983 - it's not registered, neither on the sleeve nor on the label. It's a pretty obscure gem and the cover shows the DJ desk of the Mirage discotheque in Firenze.

Kraftwerk - Die Roboter (1978)

No words necessary!!!

Kraftwerk - Metropolis (1978)

One basic of today's electro based music is definitely the German group "Kraftwerk". Metropolis is taken from their album "Die Mensch-Maschine" or "The man machine". They were so far ahead of their time - amazing.

Fun Fun - Living in Japan (1985)

Cult project "Fun Fun" brought us some essential Italo hits. This is one of them.
BTW: the cast of "Fun Fun" has changed many times. In the beginning Spagna also was in this project before she started her own solo career.

June 3, 2011

Marzio Dance - You can do it (1984)

Back to the real Italo era. Nothing's better ...

Classic gem by the legendary Marzio Dance who was the resident DJ of the disco "Xenon" in Firenze. I personally prefer the instrumental version. here you can see a live performance from the master himself at "Xenon".

Jackpot - Ragazza (In Flagranti Remix) (2009)

Stomping and pumping - let's get on the floor!!!

Jackpot - Night flight (2009)

This track is also from 2009 - OMG so much 2009 in my last posts; it has to be a good year for "our" music. Taken from "Rvng Of The Nrds Vol. 9".

June 1, 2011

Codebreaker - Follow me (The Outrunners Remix) (2009)

... and this remix is for the dancefloor. It's mixed by the French duo Pierre de la Touche and Stephen Falken who are known for their driving basslines and for spheric synths which bring a kind of lightness into their music.

Codebreaker - Follow me (2009)

Cool sounding mixture between Disco and Deephouse with an also cool vocoder voice.

Amplified Orchestra - Satellites are spinning (2007)

The man behind this edit and bootleg project is Gert-Jan Bijl from the Netherlands. Always these Dutch-men ... He is a master in re-edit and pump up old underground Disco, Space, Cosmic and Italo records. They all came out under other track names and you are always thinking about the originals - and mostly you can not remember their real names.

This one here is an edit of, of ... what???

Rayko - Spaceship crash (2009)

This is another one for the beachclub.

May 30, 2011

Ichisan - Snow shower (2009)

This wonderful gem doesn't really sound like winter but definitely like the upcoming summer while you're lying on the beach watching the sundown.

Ali Renault - Running on vapours (2009)

This track entitles the EP. Nice work again - and brilliant vocoder.

Ali Renault - Rimini boyz (2009)

From the great EP "Running on vapours" this is a pretty dark journey back to the cradle of Italo.

May 28, 2011

Walter Jones - The odyssey sound (Mogg & Naudascher edit) (2006)

This is the B-side of the Walter Jones release one post before. Also very massive - especially at about 2:00 when the bass-synth starts its work.

Walter Jones - Deuteronomy brown (I-f edit) (2006)

This edit from Dutch hero I-f is mindblowing.

Ichisan - Space patrol (2009)

The two other tracks of the "Space patrol EP" called "Atanamamo" and "Robots from above" I already posted here some time ago. This title makes the release complete.

May 24, 2011

May 22, 2011

TeslaSonic - The thundering bolt of Jove (2009)

Second example from the mentioned EP.

TeslaSonic - The devestating spark of Prometheus (2009)

2009 again. This track is from the EP "The spark of Prometheus". The whole EP is a journey through "MOOG-land". Simply perfect with good vibes.

Hannulelauri - Metropol (2009)

This one is the track that gives the name to the EP.

Hannulelauri - Sorcery (2009)

I just realised that the last posts were all from 2009. So it was obviously a beautiful year of NuDisco and NuItalo productions. That applies to this track from the wonderful EP "Metropol" from Finland as well.

May 20, 2011

Stephen Falken - Visions (2009)

Music in the manner of "Cyber People". This guy is from France and also part of the duo "The Outrunners". I think there will follow some posts of them soon ...

Rayko - Slow track (2009)

Raico Peña is also from Spain and creates beautiful own tracks and lots of edits. Always a pleasure to listen to. This one contains some heavy guitars and is from "Cosmic Balearic Beats Vol. 2" as well - like the Nelue-track down below.

Nelue - No strings attached (2009)

Nelue is Fernando Gómez - a DJ and producer from Spain. This is the version that has been released on the "Cosmic Balearic Beats Vol. 2". Very nice vibe in it to relax and enjoy your live.

May 18, 2011

Miss Kittin & The Hacker - Party in my head (Mr. Pauli Remix) (2009)

Remix of the original by Ingmar Pauli from the Netherlands. Great vibe and very driving. It's also a part of the 12inch from 2009.

The Hasbeens - I fall to pieces (2009)

Alden Tyrell and DJ Overdose brings us some very slow-mo vocoder music. Like it a lot.

Lucy Montenegro - Lucy in the sky (2009)

OMG - I love this EP from David Vunk's "Moustache Records".

May 14, 2011

Electrick Dragon - Breakaway (2009)

This recent track sounds a bit like from the minimal corner. It has been released on the great Moustache Records release "You can trust a man with a moustache Vol. 1".

Parallels - Midnight voices / Dry blood (2009)

These are the two tracks on the B-side of the EP. "Dry blood" is a very cool vocoder-track.

Parallels - Ultralight (2009)

First track from the same named EP. "Parallels" is an electronic and pop trio from Canada that has been founded in 2008.

May 12, 2011

Elitechnique - Double destiny (2009)

Relaxed beachclub vibe from Westcoast Holland.

Egotrya - Volcano (Beppe Loda Remix) (2008)

Italian cult DJ and producer Giuseppe Loda created a full-synth-space-travel remix.

Another hardrocking remix called "Lightyears Disco Mix" you can find on a Robot Scientists mix they made for their monthly radio session on Overfitting Disco in July 2009. Unfortunately this track isn't available on youtube at the moment.

May 10, 2011

Peru - Africa (1983)

... and to make the album complete here is the track that was absent so far. So ambient and epic.

Peru - Cave (1983)

Some tracks of Peru's "Continents"-album has been already posted here. This is another nice synth-track of this Dutch project.

Sun La Shan - Rose from Tokyo (1984)

Super classic on the super classic "Superradio Records" label.

May 7, 2011

Bottin - No static (2009)

Guglielmo Bottin from Venice/Italy is one of the best recent producer, DJ and sound designer. This release came out on the New Jersey-based cult label "Italians do it better" that is run by Mike Simonetti.

The Creatures - The amazing run in the tube (1983)

Another classic from one of the best projects ever. You can find this on the album "Believe in yourself".

Second Mission - Kyrieleison (1987)

Finest electronic synth-pop from Germany.

EON - Infinity (1989)

This gem already belongs to the New Beat and Techno era but I like the driving and spacefly character. Come on let's experience the infinity!

"I am now, where men will be - approximately 1.000.000 years of today."

The Flirts - Dreamboy (1983)

The Flirts-crew of 1983 was Christina, Debby and instead of Christy (in the '84 cast) the third girl was Holly.

The Flirts - Helpless (1984)

Live video from the 1984's Flirts-cast with Debby, Christy and Christina. Not necessary to mention that the mastermind of "The Flirts" was Bobby "O".

May 2, 2011

Keen K. & P. Muench - Connection flight (Electrosexual Radionnection) (2009)

Energy loaden synth-pop monster from the German guys Kai Lüdeling and Philipp Münch.

Peppermint Lounge - Perfect high (1983)

Kind of perfect wave-influenced Italo song with this melancholic touch. Hard to get as well as original copy. The video shows the remastered re-release by Flexx from Belgium.

Ghibli - I'm looking for you (instr.) (1985)

Mega rare Durium release. Driving and uplifting.

April 30, 2011

The New York Models - Fashion (1984)

Time again for some Bobby "O" here. Always recommended and prices for the 12inch are going up to 30 Euros.

Jean Michel Jarre - Revolutions (1988)

This is kind of great! The music and the live performance as well. Like the power in it and the vocoder voice.

Kano - I'm ready (1980)

This is another funky Italo track produced by Stefano Pulga with a big disco influence.
GREAT!!!

April 22, 2011

Mr. Pauli - Der Alte (2008)

This is the second track on the B-side of the "Le Crunch" EP in the typical "Mr. Pauli manner".

Mr. Pauli - Metalbass (2008)

Another greeting from West Coast Holland. Mr. Pauli knows the way. Stunning tune from the "Le Crunch" EP.

Z-Factor - Fast cars (SFX version) (1983)

Amazing upspeeded track with a breathtaking funky bass guitar solo at about 3:40. Come on and do it in fast cars - I like it ...

Cellophane - Music colours (Part 3) (1984)

After the highly sought after "Gimme love" from 1983 this is the second release of Alessandro Novaga and Giorgio Paganini under the name "Cellophane" - and it's at least as remarkable as their first record.

Leader Band - You're my everything (1984)

Great instrumental version on the B-side called "Leader version". Couldn't find it on youtube - therefore you can only hear the vocal one. The instrumental you can find on The Robot Scientists' Musica da Batticuore Mix number 12.

'Lectric Workers featuring Funny Randon - The garden (1982)

"Robot is systematic" is well known but this one also is a classic tune.

April 17, 2011

Skatebard and Sue - Love attack (2007)

As I like the sound of this Norwegian guy so much I also have to introduce this beautiful song with vocals by Anne Lilia Berge-Strand and the master himself. Synthline is stunning again!!!

Skatebard - Data Italia (2006)

Another bassline monster from Norway. It's taken from the EP "Flashes in the night".

Paul Ray - My machine (1984/2007)

First release of this breathtaking track was in 1984 on the album "Doing the best I can". An extended re-edit came out in 2007 (this is the featured one down below). The edit is from the greatest Italo-record collector ever - kind Flemming Dalum. His taste and his knowledge is simply amazing.

April 14, 2011

Bogdan Irkük a.k.a. Bulgari - The distant message (Arken Remix) (2007)

Also from the same EP like the post before in the same manner of sound. Like it a lot.

Bogdan Irkük a.k.a. Bulgari - Curare (2007)

This is also a cosmic and balearic touched track taken from "The Distant EP". Great synthline btw.

Dølle Jølle - Balearic incarnation (Todd Terje's Extra Døll Mix) (2008)

This is a masterpiece in Cosmic-Italo-Balearic sound. The remix by Todd Terje builds up and up and at about 2:15 it starts to make you travelling to the stars.

April 12, 2011

Fun Fun - Happy station (1983)

This is an absolutely classic. It reached the charts all over Europe and fulfilled every dancefloor.

Here is the original 12inch version:

... and that's the also wonderful Scratch remix:

Barbara Norris - It's heavy (Dub version) (1981)

Finally I found this one on youtube. It's the instrumental version of "Heavy hitter" I've already posted here.

Propaganda - p: Machinery (1985)

Besides "Dr. Mabuse" I do love this song so much. Another masterpiece of 80s synth-pop.

April 10, 2011

April 8, 2011

Art De Rosa - Bel air (1984)

Cheesy Italo at its best. I don't like the vocals so much but the instrumental version is great - like it is in a lot of my posts.

Lime - Guilty (1983)

Great instrumentals - this is the original 12inch vocal version of the Canadian duo. But if you prefer the instrumental version you can get the vinyl for a really cheap price.

Chris & Cosey - Walking through heaven (1984)

Some of my posts are not really related to the Italo genre. So this one isn't like that too. It's more electronic with an ambient touch. I have to share it though because I think it's too good.

April 6, 2011

Axodry - Feel it right (1984)

One of the members and also producers of Axodry was Andreas Tomalla. German folks know him as the famous DJ and producer Talla2XLC. He was a pioneer of the electronic music in Germany and had lot of success in the late 80s and the 90s with some Techno and House productions. He's still in business today. Great career.

John Carpenter - Christine (1984)

Producer of this track is Ralf Hennings who also appears in "The Splash Band". You can say that he had a passion on John Carpenter and produced a lot of tracks being inspired by John's horror movies.
Christine has also been released as a 12inch so you can enjoy it a bit longer.

Zinno - What's your name? (1985)

Very nice version of the James Bond main theme. I prefer the instrumental version though.

April 4, 2011

SPK - Metal dance (1983)

The ideals of SPK are kind of strange. They are trying to be a voice for individuals with so-called "mental illness". More informations about their theme you can get at "discogs".

"Metal dance" entraps you with some special sound elements including lots of metal noises which wanna make you dance.

Risqué - Go for it! (1984)

Everybody knows "Burn it up", but this one is also worth to be mentioned.

Propaganda - Dr. Mabuse (1984)

Well known electronic synth-pop from Germany. As I know the singer Claudia Brücken had a relationship with one of the owner of the British label "ZTT" (also the label of "Frankie goes to Hollywood"). I don't know if this connection caused the fact that Propaganda released on ZTT or if it was the other way: they released on ZTT and Brücken felt in love with the label owner. Whatsoever: they were very successful with Dr. Mabuse and some other great tunes.

The most known 12inch version in my opinion is this 10 minutes work:

I personally prefer this shorter one because of the exciting synths and the following percussion break between 3:29 and 4:45:

April 2, 2011

Kano - I need love (1983)

This is one of Kano's greatest smasher in my opinion. And we all need love - right now. Sooooo good!!!

Bobby "O" - I'm so hot for you (1982)

... and I'm so hot for all these "O"-sounds :-)

Esavù - Sia-sioù (Breakin' up) (1983)

I only found this vocal cut. I personally prefer the instrumental version you can find on the official 12inch. Outstanding synth-work in there. Great tune.

March 31, 2011

X-Ray Connection - Replay (1983)

Load your lasergun and destroy the "enemy missiles".

The sound qualitiy isn't that good and for me it seems that the track is a little bit pitched up.

Life Force - Invitaion (1984)

This is a high energy invitation to dance - so let's do it and move.

Pablo - Experience (1983)

Released on legendary Italian label "Durium". I prefer the instrumental version that is called "Pablo's Group - Experience".

March 29, 2011

Alden Tyrell - Hills of Honolulu (2004)

To make it complete ... This track has been released in 2004 under Martijn Hoogendijk's other alias "A Visitor From Another Meaning". And his music is like a visitor from another planet.

Alden Tyrell - Disco lunar module (2004)

This is from "Times like these" as well; 12inch is from 2004. Breathtaking!!!

Alden Tyrell - Knockers (2003)

Another killer track from Westcoast Holland. The 12inch has been released in 2003 as a 300 copies limited edition. Three years later it appeared on the double album "Times like these".

March 26, 2011

Alden Tyrell - Love explosion (1999)

This was the first release of Martijn Hoogendijk - and it's not only a love explosion; it's an explosion at all. Furious track.

Some years later in 2005 he re-recorded this track together with the Italo legend Fred Ventura:

Boytronic - Man in a uniform (1984)

Bobby "O" even produced for this German synth-pop band. They had his greatest hit with "You" from 1983.

Pamela Nightingale - I'll never fall in love again (instr.) (1985)

This is my favourite version of this song. Always remembering me on my younger days and my hometown disco where it has been played during the lasershow and nobody knew the name of this record - except our DJ of course.

March 20, 2011

Camaro's Gang - Ali shuffle (1982)

If you hear this track and see that video you'll say that the Camaro's Gang could be a "Crazy Gang" - at least the sound is pretty crazy. I prefer the instrumental version on the B-side of the 12inch.

P4F - Medley (1986)

P4F means "Propaganda for Frankie". This is getting clear if you hear the medley between "Machinery" and "Relax". Nice work from Italy.

Digital Emotion - Go go yellow screen (1984)

Great classic from the Dutch producer team Adams & Fleisner.

March 18, 2011

Datafreq - The only place I go (2008)

Vintage sound from Canada. The track has been released on the great double album "Rückwärts im Uhrzeigersinn" from our German friends of the label "Das Drehmoment".

Elitechnique - Electric evening (2008)

This one is from the "Mirror Men EP" with some funky guitar elements. Good taste as well.

Elitechnique - Microbot melodies (2006)

Florentijn Boddendijk & Remco De Jong - two guys from Holland - released their first EP in common in 2006: the "We shall control EP" from which this title is taken. And I have to say this is a very good job, mates.

March 12, 2011

Two Sisters - Destiny (1983)

Get up and dance to this uplifting HiNRG burner.

... and if you don't like all the vocals you can also listen to the "Desti-Dub":

Syncbeat - Music (1984)

Another gem with an amazing guitar bassline. No real Italo but more electro-synth-pop with a touch of cosmic and space.

Klein & MBO - De-ja-vu (1982)

Nice funky bass-guitar line and a smooth voice. Pretty tune...!!!

March 10, 2011

Klein & MBO - The MBO theme (1983)

The very early connection between Italo and House.

I Spies - Change of life (1981)

One of the uncountable projects and productions of Bobby "O". But you should also pay some attention on the instrumental edit of this song created by The Robot Scientists.

Heaven 17 - Let me go (instr.) (1982)

I know this is quite no Italo but I like all the different sounds and the spaced out synth-bassline of this song.

March 8, 2011

Fresh Color - Sing with me tonight (1985)

Available as 12inch as well.

Fresh Color - Disco future (1985)

This one is with vocals ... and not only on the already mentioned album but also gettable as 12inch.

Fresh Color - Don't shoot me (1985)

It's "Fresh Color" day today. Here you can realise the spacey Italo-sound of them - also taken from "Nightdreams".

Fresh Color - It's so crazy (1985)

This is also featured on the album "Nightdreams". It sounds spacey and wavey as well.

Fresh Color - D.J. Track Vol. 1 (1985)

Excellent space-synth sound from Switzerland. This piece of music has been released first in 1985 on the album "Nightdreams" and came out again as a 12inch one year later. Fresh Color started about 1978 as a punk band turning to New Wave in the early 80s. They started to use synths and to produce more dub-ish. At the end they also sounded a bit like Italo. One of the founders of Fresh Color was Dieter Meier who left them after two releases and created "Yello".

March 5, 2011

Legowelt - 2002 (2002)

This is the Legowelt-track from the "Disco Nouveau: Addendum" release I mentioned the post before. Daaaarrrk!!! A must have!

DMX Krew - Lies inside (2002)

Another powerful piece of the DMX Krew which has been released on the "Disco Nouveau: Addendum" together with "Legowelt - 2002".

Nice vocoder btw.

Dee D. Jackson - Automatic lover (1977)

Powerful synths, a powerful voice and a cute robot :-)

Brian Ice - Talking to the night (1984)

Ooooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooooh ... talking to the ni.ight ...

And at 4:15 even a rap part.

March 3, 2011

Truffle Club - Gone blue (2008)

This is a mixture between Electronic, Italo-disco and Electro with a HiNRG-, epic- and acid touch. The release came out on the London based "Dissident" label and is limited to 200 copies.

Bobby "O" - How to pick up girls (1985)

Typical way to get into contact with the prettiest girls of the world. At least this is what Bobby Orlando teaches us.

Makina Girgir - The spell EP (2007)

I would like to complete here the whole "Spell EP" by Makina Girgir - at least with the titles I can find on youtube.

This here is the more dark B1-track (Moonshower):

... and this the B2-track (The spell):

February 28, 2011

Makina Girgir - Plans for today (2007)

Great new electronic music released on Berlin/Germany based "Das Drehmoment" run by our friends Dany and Thomas. Support their label and shop by buying vinyl.

Boytronic - Trigger track (1984)

Energy loaded synth-wave-pop from Germany. This is the B-side of the 12inch "Diamonds and loving arms".

Robert Schröder - Skywalker (1983)

Perfect Moroder-based cosmic-synth-disco music to fly over the clouds.
