Appaloosa is a duo from France and the UK. The British producer is Max Krefeld (sounds very German - hehe) and the French singer with the beautiful voice is Anne-Laure Keib. Grand Prix - Cruisin' (1983)

This is one cut from the incredible album "Mach 1" which has been released first in 1983 and came back with a unofficial re-release in 2012. This track remembers a little bit on the sound of the group "Imagination" with their great hit "Just an illusion" - at least the funky bassline.

July 6, 2013

Black Van - The calling (2010)

This is the B-side of the 12inch "Moments of excellence". It's also a huge track with a driving bassline and a nice piano melody. Love this track so much because it remembers me on the good old Italo-times.

June 29, 2013

DJ Bert & Eagle - I am your master (Savino DJ & DJ Peet Need Remix) (2013)

This cut is from the Red Laser EP Vol. 2 and is a remix of the firstly in 1980 released 7inch track by DJ Bert & Eagle. The sound qualitiy of this video isn't that good but I can promise you that this track is really fat on original vinyl.

June 25, 2013

Il Bosco is the alias of the founder of Red Laser Records Christian Wood. He's a DJ and producer based in Manchester.

June 24, 2013

Kid Machine & Flemming Dalum - Fantasmi (2013)

June 23, 2013

June 22, 2013

Mike Simonetti & Johnny Jewel - Hollywood seven (2011)

The two guys from "Italians Do It Better" present Alides Hidding original song from 1980 on an unofficial 12inch release. The first version - the Disconet Dilemma - is THE one for me. It's great and well done. You have to move and sing.

June 21, 2013

Bottin & Rodion - One for all (2013)

This is a cooperation between two excellent Italians - the one from Venice we already know: Bottin - and the other from Rome: Rodion. With this single sided limited blue and white splatter 12inch they created a masterpiece of obscure cosmic electro disco house track.

June 20, 2013

Ajello - Kalimba tune (2013)

The Italian duo "Ajello" comes over with a fat and tasty tune.

The original version:

... and the "Hardway Brothers Remix":

June 13, 2013

Simian Mobile Disco - Audacity of huge (Naum Gabo Remix) (2009)

June 12, 2013

Rayko - In the cave (Ohm Fat's Transcended Remix) (2012)

Rayko always convince us that he knows how to do good tracks. This one here is only a cut of a remix. Spacefly sound.

June 10, 2013

Naum Gabo - Dmitri's darkness (2011)

This one is taken from the 3-track 12inch "The crystal line" which I'm gonna introduce the next days. The whole EP could also be a soundtrack to a sad and dreamy movie.

May 28, 2013

David August - On my mind (2011)

David August aka David Nattkemper comes originally from Hamburg and lives at the moment in Berlin for studying at the University of Arts. His track is also a kind of art.

May 26, 2013

Barbara York - Tonight (1982)

This is the radio version of the song which is not released on the shown label "Delirium" but on the one of "Smash One Music". In the year 2012 a limited remastered official reissue came out with the "Disco-" and the "Instrumental Disco Version".

Love this song.

May 25, 2013

The Heels of Love ‎– Flight 707 (Jadoo Remix) (2012)

This is the best of the three remixes which are released on the 12inch. Not as vintage as the original version but therefore more funky and groovy.

May 21, 2013

May 20, 2013

Giorgio Moroder vs. MB Disco - From here to eternity (Aeroplane Remix) (2012)

May 18, 2013

Black Van - Pinacolada (2012)

This is the last track of the "Inside" EP. It spreads a bit of summer feeling - hope it's getting warmer soon.

Also nice to listen to is this remix by Mathias Modica - the founder of the Gomma label.

This is the cool remix by Los Angeles-based duo "Oliver" with the members Ollie Goldstein and Vaughn Oliver.

May 15, 2013

Black Van - Inside (2012)

The members of "Black Van" are Kris Menace aka Christophe Hoeffel and Oliver Kowalski. This video is only a snipped of the original version. I think it's enough to hear that it's really worth to catch the 12inch.

May 12, 2013

Michoacan - Disco sucks so good (Tiger Stripes Remix) (2012)

For a change here we have a DJ and producer from the U.S. It's Fernando Miranda Rios from California - and with Tiger Stripes we have a remix from Sweden by Mikael Nordgren. And this remix is so good.

May 10, 2013

Sonny Fodera feat. Bru Fave - Into my mind (2012)

Here are the two versions of the A-side of this qualitiy 12inch from last November. The two best ones in my opinion.

May 6, 2013

May 3, 2013

Miguel Campbell - The avenger (2012)

Track C1. High noon mood caused by the guitar-sounds. Fits perfect to the title.

May 2, 2013

Miguel Campbell - Boy (2012)

This is the next snippet from the "Back in flight school" album. Funky shit!

April 29, 2013

Miguel Campbell - Love electric (2012)

The A2-track of Miguel Campbell's double 12inch album sounds similar to "Flight school" but it's also a bomb.

April 26, 2013

Miguel Campbell - Flight school (2012)

This gem is taken from the double album "Back in flight school" I would like to introduce with the next posts. The sound remembers a bit on that of "Imagination". It's modern and pretty funky and fat.

April 24, 2013

Aeroplane feat. Jamie Principle - In her eyes (Chopstick & Johnjon Remix) (2012)

This is another Aeroplane track that makes you happy :-)

BTW: Jamie Principle is already known since the mid-80s. Compare with his "Waiting on my angel" her in this blog.

And another thing: nice butt in this video.

April 23, 2013

Yello - Bostich (1981)

First released in 1981 it also came out as B-side of the 12inch "Lost again" in 1983. Such a great tune!

April 22, 2013

Yazoo - Goodbye 70's (1982)

One of the best Yazoo titles ever. It's featured on their first album "Upstairs at Eric's". Alison Moyet has a great voice.

April 20, 2013

Torrevado - Living in the shuttle (1985)

The first time I heard of this title was in the Spanish "Max Mix 3" from 1986. I loved it immediately but forgot it over the times. Last year I finally found the 1988 release with some different - but also fine - versions on a vinyl-fleemarket.

April 16, 2013

April 15, 2013

Imagination - Just an illusion (1982)

Classic tune which is the basic for some production of nowadays in my opinion - especially the funky synth-bassline. Listen and compare.

April 12, 2013

Harold Faltermeyer - Axel F. (1984)

Everybody knows that stroke of genius.

Harold Faltermeyer is a German guy from Munich. His career began in 1979, playing synthesizer on Donna Summers', "Bad Girls" album along with executive producer Giorgio Moroder.
Following his work with Laura Branigan on her 1984 album "Self Control", he produced soundtracks for the motion pictures "Beverly Hills Cop" and "Top Gun" and won Grammy Awards for each of them.
"Axel F", from Beverly Hills Cop, entered the US-charts at number 3, in 1985. The Pet Shop Boys had him produce their 1990 album, "Behaviour". (discogs)

I chose this original video because I also love this film - but sorry: the quality isn't that brilliant.

April 11, 2013

Candi Staton - Hallelujah anyway (Larse vocal) (2012)

The first appearance of Soul and Funk-diva Candi Staton was in 1969. This track seems to be an edit of an old original song but it was a brand new release in 2012 - and it's a huge one.

April 8, 2013

Philosophy of Sound - Fragile disco (2012)

This EP is breathtaking; it contains only outstanding tracks and remixes. The first one I would like to introduce is the main title of the EP. It's funky disco house shit.

Tape No Tape - Pure & easy (2010)

This track also disappears on the sampler "Future Disco Neon Nights" for the first time on vinyl. The digital release of it was in 2010 as well as the Hannulelauri track from yesterday. This four-track sampler has a huge track-selection.

April 5, 2013

First time this tune has been released in 2010 as a digital release and then it came out in 2011 on vinyl as part of the sampler "Future Disco Neon Nights".

March 26, 2013

Black Strobe - White gospel blues (Elijah Collins Remix) (2012)

On the B-side of the "Boogie in zero gravity"-EP is featured the "White gospel blues". This here is one of two remixes of this track.

March 22, 2013

Black Strobe - Boogie in zero gravity (Drop Out Orchestra Remix) (2012)

Drop Out Orchestra did what they ever do: they gave the best funky and disco-feeling to this song. Magnificent remix.

March 17, 2013

Adriatique - Deeper love (2012)

"Adriatique" is a connection between two German guys who have both the first name "Adrian" - and so I guess they became the idea to the project name. They come from (Deep) House and Tech House. I like this sound because of the fat basslines and the funky vibe in their work. More to come the next days.

March 15, 2013

March 14, 2013

March 13, 2013

Depeche Mode - Never let me down again (Split Mix) (1987)

Okay - Depeche Mode made "millions" of good tracks. But this one in my opinion has an extraordinary and outstanding synth-work in the second part of the remix - from about 5:05. Check it out and be excited.

March 12, 2013

Håkan Lidbo - Synthe noir/Vector x-y (2002)

This is a combination of two tracks from Håkan's double album. My personal favorite is the second part from about 6:45 till the end - Vector x-y. The video is made from images of the "Blue planet" episode "The deep".

March 10, 2013

Håkan Lidbo ‎– Sexy robot (2002)

Last year I discovered a double album named "Sexy robot" of this Swedish guy. The most tracks are in the tech-house or deep house vein and I have to pitch them down a bit to really like them. But on the other side they are kind of catchy.

Here is the first example. More to follow soon ...

February 25, 2013

February 23, 2013

February 21, 2013

Mario Moretti - Danger in deep space (2012)

This is oldschool Italo-music in the well known "Laserdance"-manner. The label "Bordello a Parigi" came out in 2011 with it's first releases and is already established in the Dutch-scene and beyond.

February 18, 2013
